You must confirm the halal status of any business directly with that business before you order or eat. The information on this site is gathered from public sources and may be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. A listing on halaltakeaway.ie is not a certification, not an endorsement, and not a guarantee that a business is halal. We accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of information found here. If halal status matters to you — and we assume it does — ask the business yourself.
halaltakeaway.ie is an independent directory of halal-relevant food businesses in Ireland. For data protection purposes we are the data controller for personal data processed through this site. You can reach us via the contact page.
You can browse the entire directory without an account and without giving us anything. We do not require you to log in, and we do not sell data to anyone, ever.
If you submit a business, claim a listing, or report a correction, we collect what you type into the form — typically a name, an email address, and details about the business. We use it only to review and action your submission, and to reply to you.
Listings contain business contact details — trading name, address, phone, website and opening hours — gathered from public sources. Where a business is a sole trader, some of that may also be personal data. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: helping the public find halal food using information the business has already published publicly. You can object at any time and we will remove the listing.
This site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. Any storage we use is strictly necessary to make the site work — for example remembering a filter during your visit. Nothing follows you to other websites. Listing pages embed a Google Map, which is loaded from Google and subject to Google’s own privacy policy.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, contact us. We respond within one month, as the GDPR requires.
Correspondence and submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle them and to keep a record of moderation decisions. Listing data is kept while the listing is live, and removed when a business asks us to remove it.
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host the site and database on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to run the service. Some of those providers may process data outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards.
Data is held in an access-controlled database. Only reviewed, published listings are visible publicly; submissions and correspondence are not.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
